Venue: The University of Manchester
Dates: September 3-5, 1998

Travel and accommodation

Participants, including speakers, should make their own travel arrangements to and from Manchester and will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. Direct flights to Manchester Airport are available through travel agents from many parts of the USA, Europe and elsewhere and may be cheaper than connections through London.

Accommodation and meals will be available for all participants at the University of Manchester's attractive conference facilities at Hulme Hall, which is close to the centre of Manchester and convenient for taxi, bus or rail links to Manchester Airport. Alternative hotel accommodation in Manchester may be available, but participants choosing this option will be responsible for organising their own travel to and from the conference. Accommodation at Hulme Hall will be available to participants for any or all of the nights of 2, 3, 4 and/or 5 September. Participants are invited to indicate their requirements on the registration form, overleaf. The cost of en suite single accommodation at Hulme Hall will be £55.00 Sterling (about $92.00 USD) for each night, to include dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Insurance

Participants are advised strongly to make arrangements for travel insurance, medical and any other insurance before their departure, and will be responsible for the cost of this.

Fees

A Registration fee will be charged to participants (including those giving papers) as follows:

  • Normal fee: £80.00
  • Members of the Robert Graves Society: £50.00
  • Students (full time): £30.00

The fee will cover attendance at the academic programme, a conference folder, coffee, tea or refreshment breaks each day and invitations to any sponsored receptions, but not the cost of any meals, accommodation or travel to and from the conference.

All registration fees should be paid in Sterling (GBP) by cheque or order made payable to "The Robert Graves Society." All bank charges must be paid by participants, who should please ensure that the Society receives the net amount due in Sterling and does not incur any currency exchange or transfer charges.
